Brooklyn Loses its (Disco) Balls
I was very saddened to hear that 
Spectrum, the
location of the Odyssey Disco featured in Saturday Night Fever, is auctioning off the transporting dancefloor that defined a generation; in addition to John Travolta’s undisputable proof that white men could dance, of course (it was all we had).
The sale goes down on April 1st (please God… let this be a joke). Can the city stop this? Oh lawd!! BWAAHAAAHHAAHAAHA!
The New York Blade says:
Rizzo did not disclose the name of the club’s buyer. But he did say it was a real estate investment company and they planned to tear the club down.
